Danny the Aussie

Tell us about your dog!

Danny is a 3.5 year old Australian Shepherd. He's exuberant, and a problem solver. The problem in his opinion is there is food he's not supposed to have. We have more locks on things than most people with little kids, and we've tested lots of different kinds, because he figures out how to open them all.

What sports or activities do you and your dog participate in at High Octane Agility?

Danny has participated in a lot of different activities- nose work, tricks, treiball, matching to name a few. He's going to give agility a try soon.

What inspired you to start training in these sports, and how has your journey evolved?

We started in these because Danny needs things to do. He's pretty much up for anything, and would like any class as long as there are treats involved. Some of the classes were really different from things I had done before, and most of them can be practiced at home without needing lots of space.

What’s a memorable moment or achievement you and your dog have accomplished together?

Danny got his AKC CGC-A

How has training at High Octane Agility helped strengthen your bond with your dog?

It's helped strengthen our bond because it helps me to better figure out how to teach him something when he's not getting it.

What advice would you give to someone new to dog sports?

My advice to new people is when you go to events, volunteer. You'll learn a lot from watching other people.
