Summer
Class Schedule
With our spring
classes coming to a close, High Octane has decided to offer mini 1 or 2 night

How to have the best party with your dog.
Does your dog sniff in class or at trials when you know there
has been no food dropped? Disconnect from you for no apparent reason? Avoid certain obstacles? Generally not look happy about running a sequence or course?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, this class will help you identify what’s stressing your dog and give you ideas to help alleviate that stress
and make it a very happy, exciting experience.

Instructor: Stacey Manzo
Time: 7pm-8:15pm
Come out and Play
Looking for a night where you and your four-legged friend can just come out

World of Weaving
Is your dog "almost"

continuing to have your dog drive through the weave poles.!

The Joy of Jumping
You know your dog knows
how to get over the bar, but is he comfortable? Does he know where to take off? Where to land? Is he comfortable jumping at angles?
Susan Salo is an expert with teaching dogs and horses to jump. Maureen will teach your dog where they should be comfortable jumping. This class utilizes Susan Salo’s
jump grids and her expertise. Maureen has taken a jumping seminar with Susan and has also studied the grids from the DVD put out by Susan. Come and help your dog
want to jump the best he can!
Date: July 23rd & July 30th
Instructors: Maureen Burke
Time: 7pm-8:15pm
Get Fancy with your Flatwork
Introduce another fun way to train with your dog. Take out all the obstacles and learn to stay connected while dog goes from heel
position, out and then back again! Class will focus on shadow handling, working inside and outside circles, recall to heel exercises with a jump and crossing your
dog on the flat. Be prepared for much discussion and practice both with and without your dog. Please bring a crate to put your dog in while we work. Dogs must be
quiet if they are crated near or in the working area. Jen has worked flatwork with all her dogs. Learn how and what to do at a trial with the practice jump!
Date: August 19th
Instructors: Jen Shipley
Time: 7pm-8:15pm
Walking the Course
This three week seminar will discuss possible ways to walk a novice/open level course. We will decide together which path is best for
your dog, where to collect your dog and where to cross your dog. We will also discuss how to handle your dog (or you!) incurring faults in the ring. This will focus
on how to continue in the ring and keep your dog HAPPY, even if you don’t qualify.

Instructors: Maureen Burke
Time: 7pm-8:15pm
GET OUT! with discriminations
Is your dog having trouble deciphering which obstacle you are asking for when it is a discrimination? How strong is your "out" command?
Come and learn an easy way to teach your dog discrimination language! We will work on the common contact/tunnel discriminations and we will also address using the
"out" command in other sequences.
Date: August 18th & 25th
